A wall to Okinawa

Prime Minister Noda, digging the wall under pressure : "It's thicker than I thought..."
Okinawa Governor Nakaima, on the other side : "Don't even..."
It's hard to ignore how Japanese central government is not treating Okinawa with full respect.  They think Okinawa will eventually bend.  And will they?

Lack of sand on Waikiki Beach

A Japanese Tourist : "Wow, I didn't expect to see Tottori Sand Dune in Hawaii!"

Waikiki Beach is experiencing erosion, so tons of sand was sucked up from ocean bottom and piled up on the beach, waiting to be pushed by shovel cars.  The mountain of sand looks like a vey small version of Tottori Sand Dune, which is another popular tourist spot in Japan.

Waikiki used to be a marsh area.  Beach was made relatively new in human history.  Just like the landfill area in Chiba started getting water damage after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, artificial things made against nature seem to have limit, and be laughed at by nature.

Obama Hawaii vacation again, Aloha, but not welcome

Unwelcomed Obama Daimyo Gyoretsu (ruler's procession) came again...
King Obama :  "Commoners, here I ,the greatest, come again, be thankful."
Commoners forced to kneel down : "Go somewhere else already. We had enough of you being bully."
"Yeah, commoners are busy in holiday season."
"Hurry up and go away!"
"We are wasting half an hour of our precious time..."

Just because he was born in Hawaii, many of Hawaii locals welcome Obama here, but he demonstrates his arrogance every time, by arriving and shutting down the traffic in the middle of the most busy times.  Enough already.  Go vacation somewhere else!

Replay - UH vs. BYU

UH foorball lost the last game of the season to BYU, and also lost a chance to play at Sheraton Bowl on Christmas Eve.  Coach McMackin was forced to retire, leaving one year left on his 5-year contract.  As a highest paid state employee, he was earning $1.1 million a year, and he decided to donate 40% of his next year's pay back to the university.  Sounds great, but he's taking over $600,000 for doing nothing next year.  So stop crying, Coach Mack.

Not occupying like that

"Let me go!  I'm a pure homeless!!"

Looking at the on-going "Occupy" movement, there's a fine line between them and homeless, but hearing about the problem of the occupying (drugs, prostitution, sale of stolen goods, etc.), homeless may feel insulted to be mistaken as one of them.

There is an old fairy tale in Japan about a magic "Uchideno-kozuchi" (a small wodden hammer) that when you shake it your wishes come true.  (Kind of like Jeanie and the magic pot.)  Hawaii Department of Education is asking for $58 million in additional funding on the 2012 - 13 budget.  Shake the hammer, shake it harder!!
